What I Learned From My Friend’s Successful Start-Up Business, Part 2

For those who haven’t read it, I basically talk about my experience hanging around a successful friend of mine who started his own business-to-business company.

Here are more things that I learned from the times I had when I went to his office.

1. Learn From Your Failures

My friend and his team had started two businesses that had failed before starting his newest company in 2013.

Guess what he did?

He learned from all these mistakes and continued to make another business, which ended up being successful. If he had stopped or did not take the time to learn from his mistakes, he probably would still be having new businesses that would continue to fail.

You have to learn from your mistakes because that’s one of the main ways that will help you move forward. Understand what your mistakes and failures are telling you and don’t try to make them again.

Even when he started his new company in 2013, he had ended off the year with a small loss, which is normal for many businesses that are just starting out.

The point here is that you will face some hurdles in whatever dreams you want to achieve, you just have to get through them!

2. People Will Doubt You, A LOT.

This comes to my next point, when my friend started his company back in 2013, he had asked people to come join him but most of them said no.

I remember when we were at a social gathering back in middle of 2013, my friend had asked my other friend if he wanted to join his company because he was a computer programmer. My friend said that he will see, but ended up saying no.

Fast forward to late 2014, the company started making some revenue, and now my friend started to receive a few text messages about his friends wanting to work for him full-time. I had seen one of his text messages about his friend wanting to hang out all of a sudden.

The point here is that in the beginning, a lot of people will doubt you or will say they believe in you just for the sake of saying it. You can’t let that affect you because their doubt could rub off on you.

3. My Friend Was Certain Of His Success.

One day, I had asked my friend why they are working seven days a week and how they should rest a day or two.

He said it is all worth it because ONE DAY he will become wealthy! He wants to become wealthy and then start up his own charity in the future.

These guys displayed a tremendous amount of confidence, and this helped them get contracts with major businesses because he knew his product was of great VALUE.

The way he talked and presented himself showed me that he was an excellent businessman with an excellent product.

You can have the BEST product in the world, but if you don’t know how to communicate this to customers, then it is less likely that they will be convinced that your product is amazing.

He displayed great confidence just in the way he walked and communicated with others.
